Ngee Ann Alumni

About Us

A small group of Ngee Ann graduates were invited by Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) in late 1993 to assist in setting up a new association of Ngee Ann graduates. The NAA Constitution was drafted in 1994 and the association received the official approval by the Registry of Societies on 20 March 1995 as a registered non-profit society in Singapore.

The Ngee Ann Alumni (NAA) association\’s objectives under its Constitution are:

  • To promote the interests and development of the Ngee Ann Polytechnic
  • To promote the interests of the members of the Alumni.
  • To provide opportunities for the members of the Alumni to meet one another, and provide facilities for academic, social, cultural, sports and recreational activities among members.
  • To facilitate the exchange of information and ideas related to all branches of business, industrial and information technologies through meetings, exhibitions, visits or such other activities as the Alumni may deem incidental or conducive to the promotion or attainment of the objects herein.
  • To communicate to Members information on all matters affecting Members and to print, publish, issue and circulate such publication or journals in furtherance of any of the objects of the Alumni to the extent permitted by law and subject to approval from relevant authorities.

Timeline of NAA

1999– The General Committee of the NAA mooted the idea of setting up the association\’s very own alumni clubhouse to meet the social and networking needs of fellow Ngee Ann graduate members.

20 May 2000– Mr Peter Chen, then Senior Minister of State for Education, officially launched the NAA\’s clubhouse project.

10 May 2003– Phase 1 and part 1 of Phase 2 of the Clubhouse Development was launched by the Guest-of-Honour, Mr Wee Tew Lim, NP Council Deputy Chairman, as well as Mr Lee Tuck Seng, NP Deputy Principal, and Mr Lim Kian Seng, then NAA President.

23 May 2008– Official opening of Ngee Ann Alumni Clubhouse by Mr Chia Mia Chiang, Principal of Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

A pair of prancing lions welcomed our VIP Mr Chia Mia Chiang. President of NAA, Mr Anthony Loke and Mr Chia Mia Chiang cut the red ribbon together, followed by the unveiling of the plaque by Mr Chia. The release of confettis from a canon completed the opening process and the guests were heralded to the function room at level 2 for the second part of the celebration. This was kickstarted by the witnessing of the signing of the reciprocal agreement between Singapore Polytechnic Graduates\’ Guild (SPGG) and NAA.The celebration lasted for 2 days.
